At Hurst Knoll St James we endeavour to deliver the science national curriculum in a creative and enjoyable way making science accessible relevant and stimulating.
We use the Cornerstones Creative Curriculum programme across the whole school to support us in teaching Science, History, Geography, Art, D&T, PHSE.
We use the Ruth Miskin Read Write Inc. programme to support us in teaching English
We use the Oxford University Press Numicon programme to support us in teaching mathematics.
We use a combination of 'stand-alone' programmes as well as cross curricular teaching to support the learning of Computing.

We use Language Angels programme to support us in teaching Modern Foreign Languages.
Hurst Knoll St James’ work in partnership with Tameside Music Service to provide an ever-increasing range of high quality musical opportunities for our children.
Time spent outdoors often provides the most memorable learning experiences and helps children to make sense of the world around them by putting their learning into a meaningful context.
We use the Manchester Diocese Religious Education programme (a revision of the Blackburn Diocesan Board of Education RE syllabus) to support us in teaching RE.
